Well slap me silly & shoot the horse! When musing about never being able to find the mythical natural soapbase, a fellow soapmaker was able to point me to what is, quite possibly, the only natural soapbase I've ever seen and I'm willing to test it out because Wholesale Supplies Plus carries it!

Ordering some this week and going to try it out. Since it's minus the lathering agents and preservatives, I'm interested to see how it's going to work.

Quite frankly, I feel silly for never having noticed this.  Roll Eyes Embarrassed

Silly rabbit! Sounds neat, does it cost more than other bases? (Yes I could go look, but I'm lazy)

It appears to be the same price, but people have complained about it being very tacky, sweating a lot and being difficult to remove from molds. *shrug*

If it helps anyone, I have ordered a few diff types of the WSP bases, including the "All Natural" shea and clear bases.  I have had a bit of trouble de-molding the shea, but no real/ nasty issues.  Maybe a little more sweating than normal, if you put them in the freezer prior to de-molding (though here in Colorado, it's so dry that the sweating goes away after a day or two.)  I don't know if all natural is really ALL natural, but off the top of my head, I know these are free of SLS and similar stuff, are comprised mainly of coconut and palm oils, etc; the only ingredients I'm unsure of are "sorbital" type stuff. . . does anyone know what that is?

Sorbitol is a type of sugar alcohol I think. Isn't that in a lot of "sugar-free" gums?

I was on one of the MP supplier websites, and they said sorbitol (proper spelling??) was made from some kind of berries, I think  Huh  Anyway, it is natural enough for me . . . until I can persuade my boy that I fully understand the dangers of lye and will take proper precautions (considering I've burnt myself on an iron and volcano-ing oatmeal in the past few days, that might . . . take some doing)

LOL Nymeria:  here's to mile high bubbles!   Cheesy  Which part of Colorado do you live in?
