Do you have a crafty place where you love to hang out? Or a crafty place that you and your friends love to get together?
Tell us all about it and why you love it!!

Let me start the ball rolling: My favourite is not a craft shop - its a vintage shop - but she has recently started stocking handcrafted hats. She does really creative window displays that usually involve some kind of handicraft and offers "regulars" tea and chocolates when they stop in! A lot of her vintage items were originally hand made by someone.
She has started to introduce her "regulars" to each other so we are becoming like a little social group! Smiley

*sneaks in timidly*

Hi Geek ... this is my first post at Craftster and I feel a bit nervous!  Embarrassed

I just love my local scrapbooking shop but for some reason I don't do well with large groups of people I don't know well so I don't socialise much.  Plus I don't really fit the usual scrapbooking mold (not being a Mum) so they don't know what to do with me, either!

Anyway, it's just full of fascinating bits of stuff that you actually gotta stand there and figure out what it does, as well as all the beautiful papers which are often art all on their own, no embellishments required.

It just moved to bigger/better premises too, so happy about that!

Ah, the crafty window shopping! I love it! Cheesy
I know what you mean about the average scrapbooker. I think many scrapbookers start the hobby after trying to jazz up their baby's photo album. I'm not a scrapbooker myself but I really love using some of the scrapbooking supplies. I have used some vintage-style transfers and stickers and some of their gorgeous papers for a Supernatural TV show swap and thats not what you'd imagine scrapbook supplies would be used for! I imagine there are lots of unique scrapbooking projects on craftster.

Perhaps Craftster is ideal for a shy person? You can ask questions without being face to face, which can be scary. Also there is so much information here about crafting projects that if you do enough searching you usually find the answer without having to ask anything! So I guess Craftster is another one of my favourite crafty places to hang out!
Welcome!  Smiley

P.S. You can send me a personal message whenever you like. I'd be happy to be your "craftster mentor".
