My absolute love of all things nerdy leads me to excellent (imo) Halloween costume ideas (the past three years: Yuna [FFX], Link [Zelda], Steampunk Batgirl). This year I combined that with my love of all things vintage, and rocked original series Star Trek.
I didn't take any before or during pictures of revamping the dress, but it started out as a too-large turtleneck dress that I picked up from Value Village for $7.99; I tailored it down to my size, sewed on a black boatneck, and added Lieutenant's stripes on the arms. For the sake of not freezing more than I already expected to, I chose not to shorten the dress to a more realistic length (sorry, canon, but I can only be so accomodating Tongue). I also made the Starfleet pin out of Fimo. Paired up with black tights, some old leather boots, and about a fluid ounce of hairspray, this redshirt's ready for some Halloween action Cheesy

Ps, Sorry about the lack of a good full-body shot; this is the best I managed to grab for the night.

LOL! I  was Uhura and made my badge of Fimo too! Yours looks really pretty with the black fimo, I just used some sharpie to outline mine because I didn't have black clay. High five for having the same idea basically Cheesy
