For Halloween, I decided I wanted my almost 14 month old to be little red riding hood.  I decided to make the dress one we could use again, not just for a costume.  I made the Paper Doll Dress by Lil Blue Boo.  It was very easy to follow and the pattern even includes a tute for how to make buttonholes without a buttonhole foot for your machine!  The cape is from a Simplicity pattern.  The pattern was awful and I eventually ditched it and just winged the cape.  I had so much fun making her costume and she had a GREAT time trick-or-treating Smiley

Thanks for looking!

That's adorable!  I made myself a Little Red Riding Hood costume this year, and I'm almost certain I wasn't nearly that cute.   Cheesy

My goodness, do we share brain cells?

My 19 month old dd was Red Riding Hood! I made her a dress we could use again (a black corduroy jumper w/ red buttons here).  I also made her a cape from the simplicity pattern, which confused me.  I made it work, but I'm not sure I did it the way the directions meant for me to.  (I'll post pics in my own thread so as not to hijack yours)

Your Little Red Riding Hood is too cute!  Good job Mama!

OMG, that is ridiculously adorable!! I think I'd be tempted to dress her in the whole ensemble even when it's not Halloween. It's just too cute for only one day!

You're a much better mom than I am....my 18 mo old went as Little Red, but in a ghastly store-bought costume.  And as my husband pointed out, she looked more like a Czech Queen than a fairy tale character  Cheesy

Very cute!  (And now I'm off to buy that pattern!)

Making an effort to use proper English and not 'net slang makes me much more willing to respond to your post.
