I've always wanted to do an entire stage production in black and white, especially since seeing Pleasantville. I decided that my Halloween costume would suffice, and suggested that my boyfriend and I should be Lucy & Ricky for Halloween. He couldn't make it up this year though (long distance relationship
) so I went solo as Lucy.
By the time these pics were taken, my makeup had begun to wear off a bit, but it's the basic idea. I can't believe I actually dyed my hair black for this! I'm beginning to wonder if it was a mistake, haha. First time ever dying my hair... usually it's a light/medium brown.
My mom and aunt helped me make the dress, I made the earrings and did my hair and makeup. The arm coverings were made from tights (I wanted lighter but this was the only shade gray they had)... and the gloves, belt, purse and shoes (which aren't visible except very slightly in one pic) were thrifted.

Sans gloves, at work, with Dexter the Pirate Dog. Hard to work with those gloves on, especially when they're too small for your hands! (This and the next shot were taken when I first dressed up on Friday and used a video tut for the hair, which failed miserably. My hair was way too thick and I had to half-arse it at the last minute by shoving as many combs and bobby pins into it as I could).
Playing the role of the housewife, also sans gloves. Mmmm, apple danish and homemade marshmallows, with a generous helping of chocolate bars and gummy candies! Eat up, kids! (Is it weird that our office is above a dentist?

And a closeup from when I got home on Saturday night, after a fundraising party where I got hit on by a 60 year old man who had just been humping a Wheaties box, as well as by a guy who told me he thought I looked drunk and easy, which was a feat, considering I'm a virgin who doesn't drink, hahaha. He then proceeded to tell me he was "in pretty good shape" and gave me his business card, what a winner!
