This year in celebration of the Wizard of Oz's 70th Anniversary I dressed my  month old daughter as Dorothy Gale. I did not like any of the patterns I saw at Wal-Mart, and frankly could not afford one, so i made up a pattern from one of her dresses. The fabric is baby blue gingham I found at the discount bin for $1.54 the yard. I bought 2 yards but only used 1. Now on to the pictures!

The front of the dress ( please don't mind the baby making faces ):

I made the back of the dress corset style since I forgot to buy a zipper  Embarrassed

This is the best shot I got of the dress, she kept running away from the camera!

And the ruby slippers!:

Hope you enjoyed!

Great job on the costume, especially love the slippers.

FYI-

Dorothy Gale- fictional Wizard of Oz character
Dorothy Hale- real life aspiring actress who committed suicide and was the subject of a Kahlo painting.
