I have been doing Lolita style Hallowe'en costumes for the past 4 years now, so I figured I'd go at it again this year, but this is the first time I added a bit of a horrific twist.  Last Halloween I got some prosthetics  for my roommate, and she never used them.  So I still have a burn scar/gouged/shredded kits.  I used the shredded kit to get the effect of a bear claw tearing my tender faceflesh to bits!  I've never used prosthetics before and didn't even have everything I needed to pull it off (read: spirit gum), but with more practice I'm sure I can get it to eventually look better.

I made the dress, bow, and capelet.  I didn't use a pattern for any of it.  I love the capelet, though the shoulders are a little too puffy/misplaced.  I would have used blood gel on my face, but because I actually would wear this outfit in a non-costume/Hallowe'en situation, I didn't want to get it stained.  The gauze fabric I got at Hancock, which was really cool and 99c a yard and figured would add to the look.  Of course when Saturday rolled around and I wanted to tie on my capelet, the blasted ribbons completely shredded!  Oh well, I used a safety pin...

I entered a costume contest with a friend (who got a LOT of attention dressing as Lady Gaga hehe) and apparently TIME and SKILL and EFFORT are not aspects of a costume a drunken crowd of judges appreciates! =\

Wif my guy =3

My friend's creepy bat cave of a basement

And his equally creepy kitchen

Hope you all had a happy and spooky Hallowe'en!

I make Elegant Gothic Lolita goods on commission, and sometimes I just make things for the online store!
