I make clothes for imaginary people

My brother brought me back a skeleton demon puppet from Mexico and I knew right away that I had to be a Dia De Los Muertos skeleton for Halloween. My boyfriend liked the idea so much he suggested we do a couple's costume.

We each made our own masks and costumes. I'm actually totally proud of him because not only did her pick up the mask making just from watching me at work; but he learned to sew using my machine after only a 10 minute tutorial!

There are a lot of details. I screen printed the border on my skirt and hand drew little skulls among the rose print of my petticoat. He painted and embroidered his sombrero and even made a cito lindo out of an old tennis racket and some cardboard. He's actually been bugging me to post this for days. I think a new craftster may have just been born.

These are simply fantastic! You've just the right amount of custom details and just the right amount of classic look.  It's so great that your boyfriend got so into it as to learn a few crafts to accomplish his costume!

The look is really well done. The make up and masks are really cool. It's also great to have someone special to get excited about a project like this and be able to enjoy it together.

WOW, these costumes are awesome! I love your attention to detail, from the hem of the skirt and sweet shoes, to all the painting you did! And the half-masks are great! Very clever! You two are a cute couple and I love all your romantic skeleton serenading! Great job!  Cheesy

Okay I officially want to steal your boyfriend away from you (HA HA only kidding!!)...  These costumes are soo amazing and they look EXACTLY like the Dia de Los Muertos skeleton dolls and statues and such!!  I am completely impressed and I may have to steal this idea for next year for myself!
