My kids and I are HUGE Doctor Who/Sci-Fi fans and this year they chose theme costumes! Every part of their costumes were upcycled and altered to fit. The Adipose was made by me from a pattern I found online http://tinyurl.com/763ht2

My son was Doctor Who, I found his suit and coat at the Goodwill and altered them to fit.

My oldest daughter, wanted to be Donna Noble from the "Partners In Crime" episode. We found her entire outfit at the Goodwill also. I altered the pants to fit her tiny self, and hemmed the sleeves of both jacket and coat.

My youngest wanted to be Rose Tyler inside the TARDIS holding an ADIPOSE from the "Partners In Crime" episode. I painted her TARDIS from a large flat rate postal box, attached straps so she could wear it, and then made her Adipose to carry. They were a huge hit all night long. Even if we did have a few people ask, Why is she wearing a Police Box costume? LOL  I love the fact that my children are all huge Sci-Fi Geeks like I am!!

I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.

Thank you everyone ... we had a blast making these. They want to be Tosh, Gwen and Captain Jack from Torchwood next year.

Brilliant!
I was Gwen Cooper Last year. No one got it. Sad I was born a Doctor Who fan. The Adipose is just so cute. I need one now. Smiley

Wonderful! I love the TARDIS and the adipose! Too bad your kids couldn't have gone trick-or-treating with mine: I had a Dalek and a Cyberman this year!
