"Hey kids, shake it loose together, the spotlight's hittin' something that's been known to change the weather..."

After going through an intense Elton John phase I had my heart set on dressing up as him this Halloween and of course had already decided that I would be making my own costume.

I bought a big blazer from Goodwill and altered it to fit me quite well, and then the gluing began!  Each sequin was glued on by hand... although some of them were pre-made tapes or ribbons ("Elton" on the back as well as "John" leading up to connect to the microphone on the lapel) needless to say, I put a lot of hours into this baby.

The vest was something I created out of an old sheath dress, so those sequins were already attached to fabric.
The opening to the dress was at the center back, so I put the sequin dress on my dress form backwards and turned the back opening into a front closure with a placket and shiny buttons =)

Enough talking about it, here's the finished product:

In action =P

And some photos of it on the dress form:

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do =)
