Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" was one of my favorite books as a kid, and I was PSYCHED when I found out what it was being made into a full-length movie! (If you haven't seen it, GO NOW! It's fabulous!  Smiley ) In honor of the film (and because, coincidentally, Halloween was coming up soon) I decided to replicate Max's trademark wolf suit. I teach elementary grades K-4, so I even got to wear my fancy new duds to school!

I started with a McCall's pattern and made LOTS'o'mods to it. I was rather pleased with how it turned out... I hope I get another excuse to wear it!  Grin

LET THE WILD RUMPUS START!!!

I'LL EAT YOU UP!

Detail on the hood and gloves:

My creative and very helpful hubby made my crown out of a plastic flower pot which he cut and spray painted. Thanks, sweetie!

My clowning around in the park in my  comfy suit...

ENJOY, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I declare you the queen of all wild things.

I like your playfulness in the photos, too. Did the kids love it?

Hey, missgelboy. Your homemade max suit is literally the best one I've seen, and certainly better than the ones they sell for $600. It's fantastic! If it's not so much trouble... Do you have any pics of the sewing pattern you used for this, and, more importantly, what is the fabric? Like, What's t called? It's the perfect fabric for this kinda thing. I'd be grateful for your reply :-))
