Hello craftsters  Smiley
This is my very first post, seems like I have been lurking for ages and finally got the confidence to show off my work  Roll Eyes

weeeeell, a great friend of mine has been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, and since she lives on the other side of the country I am barely ever able to give her a proper hug when she deserves one... I thought maybe a quilt could help a little.

The main idea was that the quilt should be as colourful and wild as possible, as to hide chocolate stains etc  Roll Eyes so I started with a stamp quilt, but very soon lost the patience, I am still very new to the whole quilting thing and ALWAYS underestimate how long a project will take...

Anyways, the finished product:

And some close-ups:

That's me Smiley

And my friend (who decided to dye her hair back to blonde, arrrrrrgh!)

Thanks for looking, c&c is very welcome (in particular on how to get the lines a bit more straight...  Cheesy)

I love it! And having been teaching myself to sew since may and having just finished my first quilt which was much simplier than yours (I stuck to squares) I have to say I can really appreciate how much work you must have put into this! I am sure your friend will love it and it will help cheer her up everytime she uses it. What a thoughtful and special way to show even though you're far away you care!

Totally awesome! I love the little squares as the border and the center piece has such a nice flow to it. Looks great! She will cherish it always I am sure. What a good friend you are! Smiley -Casey

Very pretty quilt.  And I love the sentiment.  Great job.

This is so wonderful!  I really love it, and I am certain your friend will be too!

How is it that Firefly gets cancelled after one measly season, but Tim and Eric Awesome Show has had five ?!?
