Synthetic chiffons can be quite inexpensive. Iridescents are also pretty common.  I'll see what I can find and report back.

re: surrender dorothy, there was a Style Invitational contest for dc-area jokes about 15 years ago. One of the runners-up was something like
"How long does it take to get from Georgia to Connecticut?"
"Five minutes, unless you wait for dorothy to surrender."

(The winner iirc was:
"How did the GS-1 shut down the federal government?"
"He ran into a crowded cafeteria and yelled 'snowflake!'" )

i think the less-sheer cowl top with a sheer bottom is sexier--more mysterious!

WhhooooOOOOOOoooooOOOOOOoooooo
(sound of wind blowing through thread)

I have my first free afternoon in weeks (and tomorrow is alllll miiiiiiiine), so I'm starting on some holiday crafting and finishing up some other swap stuff.  Stopped by the thrift store and found some beaded ornament kits that are now in my shop:

Does anyone like this scarf?

I've dyed and discharged it half a dozen times now, it is too wide for me to pole wrap. Probably I should have dip-dyed it instead....

Should I make brownies this afternoon? Hmmm....

Yum!  Brownies!!  Anyone want some mint chocolate chip ice cream??

Aw, those dresses are sooo sweet CC.  Really makes me want to learn how to embroider.  A2K got me some awesome embroidery supplies and I am ashamed to say that I haven't done more than just admire them all yet.  Sad

Had a loooong day at work.  I can't wait for my talk to be over and done with.  I am sooo looking forward to an hour or two of crafting tonite!
