That mermaid quilt really is out of this world. All the more remarkable because I know how difficult to work with those satiny fabrics are. The design is gorgeous, and the construction is amazing. My favorite part has to be the redhead on the right.

Thanks for the compliments, but I can't pretend it was as hard as you think. Most of the fabric was 100% silk dupion which is an absolute dream to work with, cuts well with little fraying, irons and sews beautifully. I have a huge stash of silk pieces, as it is my favourite fabric to work with.  The silk/ rayon mix pieces frayed like a b***h, but still sewed quite well.

I would never try this with synthetics, I once did a swap with a vegan, and worked with polyester "silk". It drove me round the bend.

Hey guys, I need to hear from:

I'm honestly a little peeved at the lack of communication from many of the people in this swap, if you had good communication you know who you are and I appreciate it! Not pm'ing me when you receive and not responding to my pm's is just not ok and I have marked it down for my own reference for people I won't take in future swaps.

Yeah, I was just a little grumpy yesterday lol! I realized a bunch of people didn't pm when they received and it just gets confusing, and then I'm not able to leave feedback for people in as timely a manner as I would like.

Probably a round 3 in Feb/March? Sound ok?

I would be sooo ready to do this again. That would be great in the late Feb or March...

I loved this swap sooo much. I had a great partner and a wonderful time. I am really just thrilled with my quilt and it is on my wall in my bathroom and she looks beautiful...I cant wait to do this again and OMG stretch my imagination and really reach with the things I have learned from my swap partner I would never have thought of before this swap..My partner opened my mind to the world of art quilt and 3-d with tons of levels!
