Hey guys! To get ready for a challenge down the road....how about some suggestions for a theme for said challenge? I'm not feeling uber creative with ideas for themes right now, anybody want to throw out some and we'll do a round of voting afterwards?

These are a few that I was thinking of:

Black and white
Handmade beads (poly, glass, paper, whatever)
Unusual materials (something you wouldn't usually think jewelry was made out of)

Or it could be a strict-ish theme like steampunk, etc??

Maybe something with a strict colour scheme? or strict type of material?

Purple Paper!
Blue Beads
etc?

Haha, it's just a thought.

I like color challenges too!

Or maybe a style challenge like nouveau, deco, graffiti etc, or cultural (african, indian, japanese), or geek-chic, or masculine pieces even...

Just a few brainstorms.

A color challenge sounds fun.

Other ideas are:

place challenges- (the ocean/beach, urban scene, country villa, etc.)
material challenge- (plastic, metal, paper, etc.) in which the majority of the piece is made from the material.
upcycling challenge- use only recycled/used materials
book/movie- a lot of twilight fans would squee for this one but there are a lot of other titles to be chosen
recreate a famous piece- I don't know that much about 'famous' jewelry but it seems like a fun idea  Smiley

I really like the "style challenge" idea.. Smiley

I also like the recreation idea, it made me think of making jewelry reminiscent of certain eras.. not specifically recreated pieces.

I think all the ideas are really good so far though. Smiley

YAY a new jewlery and trinkets moderator!!

what about a seasonal challenge. like jewlery that reminds you of winter, spring, summer or fall.

Or making jewlery with a message/to support a cause.

You could also separate challenges, so that each kind of jewlery maker gets a chance to show off their skills, such as metal jewlery, seedbead jewlery, macrame jewlery, shrink plastic, etc..etc..don't know them all..

and yes, i'm as well into the colour jewlery; like all red, or all pink, all blue, etc...
