After making two prototypes (here and here) I was ready to make the actual Cinderella dress.  I used blue satin for the dress and coordinating blue organza for the sleeves and peplum.  The fabric was bought at JoAnn's on sale back in July when I promised my daughter a Cinderella dress for her third birthday.

Now I just have to wrangle it away from her and hide it until her birthday mid-November!

More info and (a ton) more pictures on my blog.

The dress is super cute and she looks so adorable in it! I was Cinderella for Halloween when I was three and I still remember feeling beyond special. I love Cinderella to this day quite possibly due to the costume my aunt so lovingly constructed for me 20 years ago. You created a beautiful childhood memory.

Gee, I'm sappy.

Fantastic job. I have a 5 year old that would squeal if she saw that.
Is there a pattern you followed?

I basically used McCall's 2856...but I made several changes, particularly in the fit of the bodice, the back closure, and by adding an underskirt to make it more poofy.
