We finished decorating one corner of our flat for Halloween today:


We wanted something cheap and fairly easy, and we came up with paper bats. We used a free template from Martha Stewart, which we cut out and traced on black paper. Since we're cheap we tried to get as many bats out of one sheet of black paper as possible:


We used regular tape to stick the bats to our wall:




Here is the finished product inluding a paper crow:

I love this! It's so VERY Halloween-y without being in your face with the fake spider webs or such. I love the flat silhouettes of the bats and crow mixed with the 3-d of the branch and pumpkin, it's really well pulled together!

yeah, you're right. This would work really well all year round and you could do all sorts of shapes. I might do this with some big letters actually.
