It's so pretty! I've never heard of metal stamping before but i so want to learn more now!

you should try making a butterfly to match the heart!

Okay...how did you get your stamp so deep in the metal??  Been fidgeting with stamping for a while now...and can't seem to get a decent impression!!  Tips on your work would be appreciated!

Whoo, metal stamping is my favourite thing ever! I love your piece, it's very sweet. You shouldn't need to hit so many times though. Did the metal you're using come annealed? Smiley Maybe it needs softened a bit before stamping on it.

I can't really see in the picture but did you oxidize that piece?

Permanent marker, really? I never would have thought of that - it's brilliant!  Grin

To anneal metal you basically heat it up with a blow torch (a chef's torch works well enough) and that makes the metal softer. You have to be careful not to melt it though. It sounds complicated but it's very easy - if I can do it then anyone can! I guess you need more tools to do it though.

Check out this youtube video about annealing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec41N69DfNE

Very cute piece! I would like to try stamping too but it seems like an expensive hobby...like I do not already have enough of those LOL
