Beautiful!  I'm really impressed with everything, but that skirt in particular...wow.  You did a fantastic job!  I especially like the lacing in the back, so nice and even.

Thanks Smiley. The original skirt had sort of a linear pattern like this fabric (I think it was flowers or something) so I thought this fabric would be perfect for the skirt. I wouldn't have thought to make the tie either, but when my partner saw the fabric he begged me to do it Smiley.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

the skirt and the bolero are awesome! i think the skirt pattern would look really great as a more casual look in black denim also!

That skirt looks amazing, and I think I recognize it from the Lip Service one you were modelling it on... hm. Great use of that (also amazing) skull brocade!

Thanks guys, I'm feeling a little more confident with my skills now. I always get good feedback from my partner, but he's supposed to be nice to me (and he doesn't actually sew himself) so it's nice to hear these things from other people. I do like the idea of doing a version of this in a more casual fabric, and perhaps shortening it to knee length Smiley that's something to tack on to the never-ending list of things I'd love to make.
