 Smiley Hi guys , ...
so I made another plaid dress this time with reds like I wanted .. I do with the plaid wasn't so shiny ( it reminds me a bit of Christmas ) but oh well .... so any way the dress is sleeveless but its starting to get a lil chilly so I made this removable sleeve thing kinda like a shrug .. its the first time Ive attempted something so complicated with shirring ... please let me know what you think

first as a puff sleeve dress  ( with weird armpit sniff pose lol  Wink )

back view

now as a sleeveless .. I shirred about 8 rows horizontal then shirred all around about 6 inches up and down in a vertical pattern then 8 horizontal again to get the effect on the bodice

back view

now the sleeves worn with jeans and a tank as a shrug kinda thingy ... for this I took 2 large rectangles of plaid and folded them in half I sewed up the sides leaving a gap for arms
next I shirred 4 rows down each side ( making the neckline ) I then slightly overlapped the pieces and tacked them together next I made a band and attached it to the bottom I shirred the band about 10 rows .. then in the back I took the shirring up about 6 more rows using the lines of the plaid as a abstract guide  .. last I shirred 4 rows around each opening to form the puff sleeves  if any one wants I can add close up pics to show the shirring better... just let me know

the back and my fave view .. i think the puff sleeves look almost like lil wings in the back

thanks again for taking the time to look ... Have a great day/night

The bustle effect is cute  Shocked

The shiring also looks great! You are brave to do so with plaid considering the high probability that the pattern and the stitching might not match up! Plaids are a bitch like that!

  thanks and
lol for sure these plaids were crazy and the dark red plaid wasnt true at all ...it would have been pretty much impossible to ever get them to line up right ... so I didnt even try  Wink plus I like the random look of them not lining up any way  Grin

Your shrug is sooo cute.  Just last night I was thinking about making a little cropped cardigan to go over my summer dresses so I didn't have to closet them, but this is way way better.  Thanks for the idea!
