May have been done in here but I did look around a little and saw pillow pumpkins and carved pumpkins but not styrofoam.

I am getting ready for a kiddie party for work and this is our craft for that night.

1. Gathered arc. paint, glitter glue and feather yarn as well as pipe cleaner, paint markers and google eyes.

2. used a pencil to push grooves into a styrofoam ball

3. used felt and pipe cleaner on a painted ball as the stem and leaves

4. glammed to my heart's content

I am thinking if I have the balls painted and grooved, the kids could go nuts. Anyone else want to share faux pumpkin crafts? I plan to do other things that night and could use ideas for all skill sets/age levels for these kids.

I should note that I plan to do some for my own home that will be much better...I am almost embarrassed with the simplicity of these two...but these are supposed to be examples for the kids to follow! Cheesy

Looks great!  When I was a kid, I remember making Xmas ornaments with styro balls and scraps of fabric.  We used to cut random shapes, (not real shapes just randomness) out of Xmas fabric, about a couple of inches squared.  Then, using the back of a knife, we pushed them into the styro balls, around the edges of the fabcric.  We covered the ball so you couldn't see any more white.  It made the balls look like quilted stuffed ball ornaments!  At first glance, I thought that's what you did here... and when you asked for suggestions... I thought I'd share... maybe you could do that with oval strips of fabric to make the pumpkins!  What a fab idea... I gotta go try it!
Thanks for sharing!

Oh!  I have autumn leaves fabric leftover from a quilt somewhere...I could have them make Thanksgiving centerpieces and Christmas balls. Who says they have to make pumpkins?  Cheesy
