Hey everyone!  I just wanted to let everyone in the Capital Region know that the Tulip Festival will be from May 5-8 at Washington Park.  Probably a lot of people already know about this, but well, here I am announcing anyway.

I'm excited as it's my first Tulip Festival since I've been knitting.  I'm hoping to maybe find some handspun yarn.  For non-knitters there's going to be all kinds of crafts, too.

There's a website up about it:  http://www.albanyevents.org/tulip_festival/index.cfm

Ahhhhh, yes. The annual Sphincter Fest. Oh, sorry, I meant to say Pinkster Fest. I haven't been in years. Has it gotten better? I moved out of Albany almost 10 years ago and up to Saratoga.

Well, butterflymary, I've never gone, so I don't know if it's gotten better...but I live within walking distance, so I figured I'd see what it's all about.

There's no such thing as easier parking. And, well, the fest does bring out the weird. Maybe you saw me about 15 years ago..... tatooed with the snake around my neck? It's been about that long since I've gone. At one point it seemed like your typical street vendors. Lark fest (smaller and right around the corner from the park) is in the fall and my friend's mom who does amazing work was REJECTED when she applied to be a vendor. I guess the fried dough and tie dye vendors are much more attractive. So, I haven't gone since the early 90's. And I've lived here all my life. Please tell me how it is if anyone goes.
