SO. after months of perving on the needlework category, i finally caved in and had to try. i just adore how you people have taken the seemingly classical art of stitchwork and used it to convey a political/satirical meaning, kicking it into modernity.

and so: here are my first ever cross stitch pieces!! and i am hooked! i love how i can do it on the sofa, the train, while waiting for a student to arrive (im a teacher). i am lazy as hell, and sometimes getting the sewing machine out is just....UGH. so this is perfect!

1) in case of emergency, break dance. i ADORED this as soon as i saw it, so tried it out myself for a mate's birthday, and it came out so well!! thank you so much, millik!! i found the frame at a supermarket for a fiver. perf!

you guys can probably note a thousand errors, but i'm well chuffed with it as i have 10 thumbs Cheesy

2) from subversive cross stitch. its totally my sense of humour, and i giggle everytime i look at it. i have yet to find a frame, but its currently sitting in my bedroom so i have a smile in the morning (not easy in this recent freeze)

counting the crosses wasnt half as taxing as i'd imagined, and i cant wait to get going on my next pieces! c+c always welcome! (nothing too harsh tho, i have a fragile mind at the mo!  Wink )

I'm in love. and stitches from all the giggling. Super well done for your first attempt (although it looks way to good to be called a mere attempt Smiley )
Keep on stitching!
