I recently made this doll for the Autumn Swap. . . my partner collects dotee dolls, so I thought I'd try to make one....

I hand-painted the fabric (some reclaimed cotton fabric,) which was really a lot of fun!

I embroidered the face, and back-stitched and split-stitched the veins and crown.

I really enjoyed making this... thanks for looking. Smiley

That's super adorable!

The painted fabric is perfect, did you use just a standard accryllic paint?

Thank  you for your kind words! Smiley

Yes, just cheapo acrylics.  I soaked the fabric in water, and floated the acrylics onto the fabric, and it all bled nicely together.  Once it dried, I ironed the whole thing with a hot iron to set the paints.  Easy!

Wonderfully done! The colors are beautiful and so is the stitching. Smiley
