I'm not thrilled with the execution, but I am rather proud of the idea.

Library-themed pasties (or "nipple tassels" to the Brits), with miniature books for the spinning tassels! The sequins spell out "Shh!" It's absurd, and that's why I love it! The world needs more ironic pasties.  Cheesy (those are my knees, by the way. no boob-shots in this post.)

Made almost entirely from second-hand materials...The text is from a 1950s encyclopedia entry about libraries, and the tiny sewn books are made with scrap paper, little squares from an old Readers Digest book cover, and embroidery floss. The backing is paperboard from a cereal box with vinyl Contact Paper covering it. I inked the outer perimeter, which looked cool but they didn't look complete, so I glued the trim (from a flea market, i think) around and some of the black ink seeped through; I might add some glitter or more sequins. Ideas for how to improve them?

Now to find a naughty librarian who will give these a home...

I love your pasties!! I am a burlesque performer and think you did a GREAT job.  Cheesy I LOVE the book tassles. so adorable! My only suggestion is to maybe leave off the letters next time? From a stage you wouldn't see them anyhow. I think randomly placed sequins would be a nicer effect.

Those are probably the most hilarious pasties I've ever seen. I think it takes the whole "naughty librarian" trope to a whole new level.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

Practically perfect in every way. And I love how you can clearly read the word "stacks" on the left one.

I'm going to be presenting a program on altered books to the Texas Library Association at their conference next spring...would you give me permission to use your photos as an illustration of "outside the box thinking" related to recycled books?

I would, of course, credit you......

These would be a surefire crowd pleaser.....

Shh! could go on the seat of a matching pair of panties!

Man, I know almost nothing about burlesque and I'm mentally choreographing the move where the librarian character does a turn and bend to flash the sparkly "shhh" to the audience.

I Loved Your Naughty Librarian Pastie Idea. I've Made Them Before, Not This Theme Though Smiley
The Background Text Could Have More Inuendo Words Like The "STACKED" I Noticed On One Of Them. Needs More Naughty Colours Like Black, & Red. Make The Book Covers & String  Black So They'll Stand Out. Make The Ribbon Trim Red Or Black And 1" Wide - Like A Lace But Put The Straight Edge Inward So The Lace's Edge Will Soften The Circle Edge. Use Your Gold Sequins (Edge To Edge) Up Against The Lace's Edge Making A Gold Circle. To Make Your Letters Show Up Better Use Red Sequins -  Did Your Hubby Like Them? - You Never Said

Holy Cow!

You Are Awesome! - Do The Gold Letters Say "SHY"? Or Do They Stand For Your Library's Name?

- Sorry About The Hubby Reference - Did you make them for a lark or for another person to enjoy?

I grabbed my old school dictionary that had a torn cover & broken spine and thought of you and your pasties - what an interesting way to learn some new words!

Thanks for making my day
