looks awesome and would i think i have the SAME table!! it is SOO super solid but kinda ugly lol (it's a hand me down) So , please tell me how awful it was to remove the tiles. Also, does your table have a built-in fold-out leaf? if yes, how'd it go working on that part?

thanks!!

I ADORE fiestaware!! (I have a place setting in almost every color they make, plus odds and ends pieces)  great idea!

I just refinished my dining room chairs and made them black and haven't finished the table yet....::ponders copying you!::

Getting the old tiles out was a real bear - those suckers were glued in good, but if you look closely, you'll see that we didn't exactly have the right tools.

And our table has a leaf (which can be stored underneath the table - there's a shelf thing just for it) - and I stupidly glued the bread tray into the center of the leaf - now it doesn't fit under the table - so if we don't want to use the leaf - I have to store it under my bed.   Tongue

ahhh, thanks for the info. that's something i would have done too lol. my ugly table may be uglier, it has a fold out leaf which is cool but it is extra wood trim around the tiles - just weird looking. but yours had those ugly floral tiles, mine are plain off-white color lol (i am laughing because i actually had a freudian-typo and wrote "off-shite" which is closer to the truth!)

This is so awesome! I'm so used to more yarn-based arts that I would never have thought of something like this. I would only have seen that 1996 table for what it was, never a potential canvas for an awesome fiesta table. So cool! I'll have to pay more attention to yucky things from now on to see what they could be.  Grin
