This weekend I made some bat wings to wear for Halloween. They are made of black stockings stretched over a frame made from duct-taped coat hangers. This was super quick to do (took me one evening) and I love the results! Would be great for anyone looking for a last-minute costume.

I might make some ears or something as well, but I'm not sure. I like sort of minimalist costumes recently.

They look really awesome. I don't think you need ears at all, they look so great.

Thanks everyone! I have some pictures of the process which I can post later. Mixi, the answer to your question is duct tape... lots of duct tape.

I LOVE THEM! They're wonderful! Wrapping the wire in duct tape is a genius idea. Could I ask for a closer-up shot of the wing join, or maybe how you did it? I've done a couple wire-and-pantyhose wings in the past, and I always have the most difficult time bringing the wings together...
