My daughter Lana knows that my co-workers, friends, and I sew pillows for the kids at the NIH Children's Inn as part of their Thoughtful Treasure's program http://www.childrensinn.org/site/c.kkI1KiMXIvF/b.2213417/k.9765/Get_INNvolved.htm in which every child receives a small something in his/her box every single day for their entire stay. This summer Lana announced that she wanted to make goodies for them too.  I told her that it would be a big project because they needed donations of 75 like items.  She said she could do it.  Being only 5 years old I had my doubts, but she proved me wrong and managed to make over 100 drawings for the kids.

There is an assortment of paper dolls, greetings for the older kids, birds, hand turkeys, and misc drawings.

We'll be dropping it off this week with some hard candies--just in time for Halloween!  I'm so proud of her!

Too cute! She is very determined.
This project would be perfect for my Child Care Club. Not only could the high school aged teacher make some cute things for the kids, but our preschoolers could color pictures.

You're Welcome! We are working on trying to find ways to use our talents as preschool teachers, and take advantage of the stash of supplies we have to do things in our community.

Neat!  In addition to hospital type donations you could also consider old folks homes.

Wow what determination. That is awesome that she proved you wrong.

This is inspiring to me. I am sitting on a random assortment of red heart stash yarn. I bet I could find a crafty charity that might like my talents.

That is really sweet of Lana!  I'm sure the kids at the Inn will be so happy to receive one of her beautiful drawings!

Take care,
lil miss
