I love the Knitty's Cargo pants pattern. But in my opinion one of the great things about being a kid is that you can wear soft fun and colorfull clothes without being laughed at.
So inspired by those:

I turned knitty's cargo into something fun!

I'm thrilled that I made it into the featured projects.

Here is the promised pattern chart for the face:


I knit the pants in size S they are 82 stitches around and the mouth is 41 stitches wide. You might want to adjust the width to the size you are knitting.

The mouth is intarsia knit and the teeth and eyes are embroidered.

haha, these are too cute!  I loved them from the thumbnail but loved them even more one I found out that these were knit.  Great job!

How do they stay up?  Is there a drawstring or elastic?

Knitting goal for 2011: knit 500,000 stitches.  24,078/500,000 knit.  I think I'm going to need more yarn...
