This is my first ever poppet and I am so happy with how she turned out!  She is even more amazing then I imagined she would be!  The biggest thing with this, for me, was to have an extreme attention to detail on her styling....I think that is what makes her so special.  I know there are a million posts about poppets all the time but I really wanted some feedback so here she is in all her glory!

I made her necklace from a button and her corset is made from a halloween vinyl tablecloth:

Sorry for the "up-the-skirt" shot but I wanted to show off her cute panties!  And check out her cool socks and boots!

Here she is with her hat on:

And lastly, her awesome hair.  I totally lucked out on the hair....I found this hand-woven dreadlock-like yarn at my mom's from her amazing yarn collection.

I'd love to know what you all think so feedback is appreciated but certainly not demanded!!  Cheesy

Wow! I'm not usually a fan of poppets but this one is amazing. The attention you paid to detail in the styling definitely shows. What did you make the potion necklace out of?

Very very true. There are a million other poppet posts around, but this one definitely caught my eye. You are a woman after my own heart. (Please excuse me if I assume incorrectly that you are a woman.) I LOVE LOVE LOVE details and they are extremely important to me. I have not felt the urge to make a poppet, but now I must. VERY well done. I love the hair and boots in particular. Is the hair hand woven? I crochet my own boots for the dolls that I make, did you make her shoes? I've been wanting to try sewing shoes but somehow they never turn out right.

If someone had told me about an orange skinned poppet, I'd of probably had a wet accident laughing so hard. But she is absolutely perfect!! I can't believe how beautifully you blended all the elements of her creation. She definitely ROCKS!!

What did you make the potion necklace out of?

The potion bottle came in a mixed bag of Halloween buttons from *I think* JoAnn Fabrics. I snipped off the button loop on the back of the potion bottle with just a normal pair of jewelry snips which was easy since it was just plastic.  Then I wrapped some jewelry wire around the bottle neck so I could attach a jumpring. That's it!  Cheesy

The hair is handwoven but not by me!  LOL.  My mom is a weaver and she has this amazing collection of yarn...some she spun and dyed herself and others she has "collected" over the years.  This one was definitely handwoven though as I had to carefully check for, and pull out little sharp twigs before I finished the hair.

The boots were a pain in the you-know-what.  I had never attempted to really make doll shoes before (except an easy pair of Mary Janes or ballet slippers).  I used a fake leather-like material that could be cut without fraying so I didn't have to worry about hemming anything. I used some of that stiff but not-too-thick felt for the soles to give it some stability. I must confess that my mom had to help me fix the boots because my first version came out so ugly and crazy looking like a deranged bag-lady had made them.  So she helped adjust my pattern and finished them off for me!

WOW! You did a wonderful job with her, and I love the hair - I was actually thinking of getting some roving and spinning something similar because I wanted some thick poppet hair that didn't cost an arm and a leg!  I'm almost done with my first and you've given me great inspiration!
