HOpe this is in the right place... I have a light box-like a lamp/picture sort of thing.  Its a square box with a 25 watt bulb and a picture of a martini on the front.  I like the shape of the box and could deal with the martini if I had to but the sides of the box is blue and does not match my room at all.

I would like to paint or other wise change the outside of the box, but i would also not like to set my room on fire- though this would be a reading in bed light rather than a leave on all the time light.  Does anyone know about paint/flamability.  The light does not touch the sides of the box... but better safe than sorry.

I can post pictures if it helps.

It's probably too late, but I noticed you didn't have any replies to this.  I don't think you'd have a problem with a flaming lamp if you pain the sides, especially if you are only usinig a 25 watt bulb, but if you paint it, you will porobably not get as much light to show through.  Have you considered maybe covering it with fabric, that way it won't be quite as opaque as paint.

thanks for replying, i've had a large craft palate lol so i haven't gotten to it,

it sort of looks like this, where the sides (which are blue) do not show light at all, and there is a picture of a martini on the front. So where i would paint, wouldn't obscure paint anyway because i can deal with the martini picture, i just can't deal with the bright blue sides.
