sweater for a toasty cat

My cat, Wilde, is small and not very active, so she often appears to be cold.  I decided to take the time to whip together a sweater for her, with the hopes that she would appreciate it.



I used the pattern (or perhaps it is better called a formula) "Cats Love Sweaters" by Christine Landry.  I'm pretty happy with it, though the decreasing on the legs didn't work in my case (couldn't get Wilde's foot through!).  I had to frog the legs a few times before just deciding to knit a straight ribbed tube.  I also wish I had made the neckline smaller, but I was afraid of suffocating her.

I used size 10 dpns with Red Heart Eco-Ways yarn in Asparagus.  It went very quickly!  One long evening and one afternoon, and I consider myself an inexperienced knitter.



She hates being wrestled in and out of it, but do you think she looks happy overall?  I think so.

Awww, she looks so warm and happy! Lol, I think this is the first time I've seen a cat in a sweater not looking mad enough to claw someone's eyes out.

Heehee, my boyfriend, who loves cats walked by me as I was looking at this, and he stopped and said how cute it was and that your cat looks really happy in the sweater

First and foremost she is so cute! secondly she looks like she likes it. One of my cats that passed away this year absolutely hated getting in and out of his 'cat' sweaters but once he was in them he was all purrs and sleepy times. Im totally thinking of making some of these, since last winter when our power went out we had three sweaters and five cats. Although the two cats who didnt have sweaters tended to be in someones lap or under the covers.

Thank you everyone!  I'm finding she may not like it so well after all.  I came home from rehearsal to find that she had half wrestled her way out of it.  I may try and add a couple more rounds to the neck to keep her more secure.  Or only make her wear it when she's sleeping...

This is cute! I've been telling my husband for the last few weeks that I am going to knit a sweater for my Tortie. She goes outside a lot so she would probably only be able to wear it indoors since I would have a fear of her getting stuck somewhere. I like the color choice too.

Awwwwww! Dat photo of the wittle kitty sweepin in da sweater is so sweet my teeth hurt!  I've a cat who'd probably not mind wearing a sweater and a ratty old cardigan with holes in the elbows would suit his aging personality.  My only worry is the litter box... Anyone with cats in clothes have advice or information about that issue?
