I saw a necklace like this in a boutique, and as per usual for a Craftster chick, said, "Ooooh I could make that!"

After taking a few liberties with the design, I came up with this:

Closeup of the pearls used

Necklace on

hanging on wall. Here you can see I used two strands of dark brown leather: One strand has four knots/pearl bundles and the other has five.

For the tips, I used JB Weld to secure the caps on the ends of the leather cord.

haha, I do that all the time! Sadly a lot of times when I go to craft shows it stops me from purchasing things because I know how easily and much cheaper I can make it myself, but its great for inspiration. The necklace is really pretty, the pearls look really nice with the leather.

Darling!

Love the ladylike pearls and the tough leather.

Someone keeps coming into the shop where I work with something a bit like this on, and every time I see it I think "Want one, must make!". That one doesn't have coin pearls on it though, I like the different shapes in yours.

Really like the contrast between the leather and the pearls.  It's nice when you find something in a shop and can go home and make it yourself.
