Just hit "this rocks!"

Beautiful accessories, and fantastic use of thrifted materials! Can't wait to see the finished products!

Dom: "This guy was a nightmare to work with, the Balrog. He had a huge trailer, never came out, never bought a round when we went to the bar, do you remember?"

Billy: "Very rude."

Beautiful work! The mask is especially nice. Does it tilt to one side when you wear it? I made one years ago and had too much stuff on the side and would slip down the side of my face.  Sad

For goldpaperstar, here is a site with all sorts of Marie Antionette wigs: http://www.costumesofnashua.com/CNWebSite105/Active905/Pages/Wigs/17th18thCentury/17th18thCenturyWig.htm But they're not cheap. oh well.

I was worried that I piled too much stuff on the side of the mask and that it would tilt. But everything I used is very light so it doesn't surprisingly . Also, the mask is held with an elastic cord and when I put it on over my wig the added thickness helps keep it up.

where did you get that wig? i've been trying to make a victorian wig out of that stuff you make yarn out of, but it just looks fuzzy.

I bought the wig at Party City, a chain costume and party store after realizing I wasn't feeling so ambitious to tackle wig making. The wig cost me $25, and it was the most expensive item for my costume. The wig is incredibly light, the curls do a nice job of hiding the wig line, and because the decorations I added to it are very light themselves, the wig is very wearable. But the only complaint I have is that because it is an inexpensive wig (or inexpensive as far as wigs go) the netting shows through the sparse hair in the upper part. But since all the doodads are on there, it doesn't matter to me.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments!
