This is such a great pattern, I found it on Stockinette's website:
 http://stockinette.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/baby-sophisticate/
(it's also on Ravelry).

I made some mods to get a larger size (for a 2 year old) and added the leather buttons to emphasize the librarian/grandpa feel... I highly recommend this pattern, it would be absolutely precious in a newborn size =)

Such a tidy looking little sweater! I would've loved it for my boy! The buttons are the icing on the cake!
