I made these quite some time ago but had an excuse to photograph them in a Mad Men inspired shoot recently for a vintage sewing challenge. I had a blast! Both are vintage reissued Butterick patterns, the Joan dress is from 1960 and the Betty dress is from 1947. I've got a bit more info on my blog but I thought I would share with everyone here since I haven't posted in quite some time:)

Me as firecracker Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks and I have MANY things in common lol)

Me as the unpredictable Betty Draper

*blush* Thanks everyone!

The Joan pattern I used was Butterick 6580, a reissued vintage pattern. Let me tell you, it was quite a pain in the ass! Being as the 50s and 60s were known for the curvy silhouette, I was unhappy to find this pattern did not agree with my superhero proportions. I did a fair amount of modification for the bustline and it worked out in the end though Smiley
