i made this a while ago as a summer dress, it was a "test piece" when i got my first serger for my 18th birthday (jay for crafty parents)

I didn't have plans, i just bought a piece of fabric to try sewing knits with the new serger. when i started to play around, i made a summer dress. of course there was not enough fabric to make a nice flowy dress, so it ended up being waaay to tight at the bottom. it looked horrible

so i added a few blue panels and voila: beautiful summer dress.
ignore my hair and everything :-)

That looks both flattering, and comfortable!  Smiley You could do a lot of fun things, with that pattern- did you make one for it? I could totally see that done with contrasting stripes, among other things....even doing it in black, with purple and red insets, for a Halloween dress!

thank you :-)
i made something like a pattern and i would love to do another dress like this one.
maybe a strapless one made of thicker fabric to wear over t-shirts in the winter.
i like the halloween idea too! (i think stretchy dresses are my new favourites :-D)

Cute!  Good idea with the panels.  I would've ended up scrapping the dress instead of making it work.  Oh, and I cannot ignore the hair and everything.  I love your hair color and look at those shoes!  lol
