My heart broke when I learned of the fallen 8 in Afghanistan BUT to know the auntie of one of the soldiers brought it to my door. I have been involved in Patriot Guard Riders for years, I worked with the USO and with groups that made memory quilts and pillows for kids of the fallen. I am 6Th gen Military and this is our life. When one falls we all as a nation grieve as part of the military family we grieve bit different as one of our family has gone on.
When I learned of my friends nephew I thought I have to do something to show that Americans do care, I am grieving with them and something for them to hold forever. SO this is it...I worked for a few days solid to make it. I have eye issues and cant see well now so it was a bit of a challenge..

This quilt is perfect, and the sentiment behind it is beautiful.

My husband, brother, brother-in-law, father and grandfather are all army or airforce men. This is a beautiful tribute to a fallen hero. God Bless you for making this.

This is so beautiful. It's just heartbreaking to hear of fallen soldiers. Yesterday I found non profit originization that makes quilts for the families of fallen soldiers where us regular people send in quilt squares to go into these beautiful quilts. It's a great idea and the least I can do to help.

Beautiful quilt, I am sure the family will treasure it for generations.  My husband is Active Duty Army and getting geared up for this third deployment soon and it warms my heart when I see little reminders like this that he and my family are cared about.
