My sister and i made this ashtray. we bought the the ashtray from walmart, then mod podged the skulls. we cut the skulls out of the most recent halloween issue of martha stewart.

then the black and red is acrylic paint and black spray paint. i got the idea from a craft book i read at the book store, but i forget the name. if anyone knows, lemme know. i used one of those holey laundry bags and stretched it across the back and sponged the red acrylic on, since we didnt' have red spray paint. then i took the bag off and sprayed the black spray paint over it all.

i think it looks good. my girlfriend, when she saw it, thought we bought it that way. so yay!

It looks great! I never really thought of sponging the paint on, I'll have to try it. The book was probably the Big Ass Book of Crafts.

I would have to agree that it was prolly the Big Ass Book of Crafts.
Over all I don't really like ashtrays, yucky, and smelly, and just gross, but this one is cool!
