I used real acorns and some cream colored lace weight wool from the thrift shop. I tea-dyed the wool first. The only stitches I used are chain and sc.

very cute! In my group the "Nuts" jokes would never end LOL I wonder how long they would last before rotting? Maybe encase them in resin? Now I am busting with ideas. Thanks  Grin

when I looked at it at first, it looked like macrame.  I love your stitching.   Very pretty.  All we have around El Paso is pine cones.  Necklace with pine cones, ouch!  Oohh, necklace with cactus.  double ouch.  Just kidding.

Very innovative.  Does the crochet hold the acorns in there tight enough, or did you use some glue?
