Sooo, I don't really know what this would be called.  Is it a collage?  Scap-pile?  I dunno.  Anyone?

Anyway, I made this last night for my husband.  He's in the Job Corps which means we're now in a long distance relationship ( Sad ) which means we're sending each other loooots of letters.  Since I'm currently unemployed and living at my dad's house (yuck!) I don't have a lot to say, so at 1 in the morning last night I decided to make him a bit of art instead of useless babble (ok, so there's a little of that on the back side, haha).  I finished about 2:30, which I thought was pretty good considering I really suck at freehanding things and I've never done this sort of thing before.  What do you think?  (Oh, and my flash picked up every stray piece of glue there was...I didn't actually see much of anything when it was in my hands.)

With bits and pieces of the pattern I made.

Getting ready to send it off!

...not sure why the image quality is so lousy.  Maybe I'll mess with it some later.

This is gorgeous!
Such a lovely design.
I love sending letters, though don't as often as I should, I'm sure he'll really appreciate it!

Very beautiful! Love that design. My husband and I have claddagh wedding bands.

Thank you!  Ever since I found out what they were, I've loved claddaghs.

We originally wanted claddagh wedding bands too, but couldn't find any we really liked in our price range (and the thought of sending over $100 to some random store online frightened me, heh).  I'm still looking, though (jewelry addiction?  Me?  Never).  Just out of curiosity, may I ask where you found yours?

Best of 2013 winner, but this is just as good.

I like how you took something that is usually monochromatic and added some color to it.  Nice job.
