This giant afghan was two years in the making!  It ended up being nine pounds and large enough to cover a queen-sized bed. 

The motif is the Russian Square, which works up pretty thick and chunky.  There's a pattern available here:  http://www.allcrafts.net/f.php?url=web.archive.org/web/20030608190809/http://members.aol.com/SAG55/russiansq.html.  I did six rounds in my squares.
