I am a quilter/knitter/other artisan and have just started teaching myself clothing construction by making things for my kids.  The best thing about making these pants was that I did it with a remnant of baby cord from Joann...I think they cost about $8 total (including fabric, pattern and elastic).  It was my first time using a New Look pattern and I really liked it.

Oh I love that fabric!  They are adorable!

I, too, was/am a knitter who decided to teach herself to sew.  I'm finding it more enjoyable than knitting which is completely odd.

Can't wait to see what else you will come up with.

I used to be strictly a yarn girl but now I'm teaching myself to sew.  Help! Smiley

I love the baby cords that JA has. Those pants are too cute, I like the buttons they match so well.

Thank you!  MacesMeMe, in the spirit of trying to make things using up stash and/or buying materials on sale, I was happy to find the yellow flower buttons in my stash.  I couldn't believe how well they matched.  I felt like the pants needed something to mark the front as it wasn't obvious.
