Wooh!  New photos!

2 of someone in the dress:
First is my sister, modeling for my portfolio:

And me, the night I (almost) finished the costume (note the missing zipper):

And some work in progress photos:

The muslin lining of the bodice:

The bodice:

Draping the sleeves to make a pattern:

The gathering process.  5 yards of fabric condensed to less than 2 ft.  Half of it has been attached here:

The dress minus the sleeves, straps and centerpiece:

You can see the drawing that I based the dress on in a few of the pictures.  That was my only image of the dress, I made the patterns from that drawing.  I wish I still had it. Sad

I have that picture!  I was doing research for my dissertation and I came across it in a book.  I knew I'd seen it somewhere.  I can post a pic later if anyone wants to see it.

oh wow, sarahlibby would you please e-mail me that picture, or just post it?  I would really like to have it.  Was it in a black shiny cover book on the history of fashion?  I think that's where I found it.  I don't remember the name and it was at my former college's library, so I'm not going to make the 3+ hour trip to go find it.
Thank you!
