I just love the word pyrography.  Woodburning, a la summercamp. It's all grown up and creating more than cross-section logs with my name scrawled in em. Yay!  I decided to do my autumn leaves pattern, and I found a cute little stool to try it out on at Michael's. Btw, I'm not sure where this should go, so it's going here for now..

A nice close up of the leaves. Keep in mind, I haven't done this since I was.. er... about 12? Now I have visions of really cool tattooed barstools.

The leaves also have a bit of stain on them, just to make them pop a bit, and then I covered the whole thing in a few coats of varnish. What do you think?

Free hand. I had drawn the design a while ago, so I transferred it onto the wood and then just carefully traced it. I started with the leaves because they were nice and organic and if I messed up it would be hard to tell Smiley

wow, this is the best use of a woodburning thingamagidget I have seen! I love it when old craft forms get improved so that they are actually pretty.  Now I'm brainstorming.

Actually the proper term is woodburning thingamaburnet.  Cheesy

Urban threads, your woodburning skills are excellent.  I'd love to see more of this happening on craftster.

Digital misfit, you really should try woodburning.  It's calming and very satisfying.  And drawing with a woodburner is almost like painting with a brush.

Hello, I am relatively new here. Would someone tell me what a "wist" is?

Thank you!!

BTW, the stool is fabulous. So many crafts, so little time!!!

That is so cool.  Smiley

I was just thinking today about wood burning little pieces of wood for glass jars in my kitchen, for things like rice, etc.  Now I think I will!
