Hey guys, I vowed to myself to make half of my wardrobe this summer ... but life (and the need for moola) got tangled up in my mission, and i present my meagre 2 pieces that i managed to finish Tongue

exhibit a:

Made this from a Jack's mannequin (so good!) concert tee i got at one of their concerts (the price was such a ripoff ... but it was an impulse buy) Basically hacked off the sleeves, took in the sides, and made the sleeves (two fabrics with one layered on top of the other) and the astronaut (a la threadbanger) hood.

the original shirt:

exhibit b:

so...i kind of like old vintagy floral prints (even though i've been told they're ugly, i think they add interest to an otherwise plain outfit) made this from a GIGANTIC poofy skirt with an elastic waist - it went literally down to my ankles ... yeah not a good look.

details:

i live too far from the sewing store to run out and get a hook & eye in the midst of sewing so i just came up with this button tab idea. simple but i like it Smiley

anyway, thanks for looking and feel free to comment below (even if you're against old floral prints Wink)

Anyway! I love the hoodie! You did a great job! And the skirt is way cute, along with the little button tab idea. Cheesy

I love the hoodie. Jack's Mannequin is pretty awesome. I love how you shaped the hood. The floral print is cute & I like the buttons more than hooks  Grin

I would actually like to own more floral prints, I just can find any I like! Sad I'm very picky, but the thing is whenever I see recons on this board with old floral prints, it looks awesome! Why do I never find any good ones?

Yeah, off-topic rambling, but back to your post, your stuff looks great! I'd love to make a hoodie like that. Awesome job!

thanks guys Smiley

seraphina: the hood shape was somewhat of a mistake b/c i ran out of fabric, so i had to patch some together and this was one of the only ways to make it work Tongue other types would have been too big.

eliskimo: i usually hate the colour pink, but the neon-ess of these were just calling my name Tongue

animaeariesgirl: thanks Smiley the shape is basically the same as regular hood, but with strips extending out of each piece (i tried to draw it on an online drawing program but it kinda failed Sad) if you need more visuals, let me know and i'll get on my pc and draw it out.
