it's getting to be a little bit cooler here and my son doesn't have many long sleeve things so i decided to make him a hoodie out of a few items from a bag of clothes from my little sister. i made it out of the zipper from a pair of jeans, an ugly sweat shirt, and a baby towel. i think i may put a pocket on the outside later

That's great! What's the pattern on the lining?  Did you use a pattern or just make it up as you go along?  A Hoodie is on my list, and it's making me nervous.

I used to be strictly a yarn girl but now I'm teaching myself to sew.  Help! Smiley

it was A LOT easier than i expected it to be. it's got little zoo animals to keep his big noggin nice and warm <3. i didn't use a pattern. i looked at mezzi's tutorial here :http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=100217.0 and decided to use a few of her ideas. i didn't use a shirt, i just cut pieces out of the sweatshirt and sewed it together to make it. don't be nervous. like i said, it was wayyyy too easy. now i'm inspired to make some out of some of my old tshirts with a nice furry lining. it only took me about an hour, cut to finish. good luck! post when you make one!
