  I'm having a lot of fun with the loom you sent me lmf! So far I've only woven one thing which I promptly cut up for a pendant idea I had...it didn't turn out so well, but I'm definitely going to try again soon and actually weave maybe some coasters (we have none! I have no idea how that happened). I must admit I've been a little distracted with trying to get some personal swaps and an angel package put together. And my crocheting! I finished my first scarf!  It's nothing major but I'm proud of myself considering I utterly failed at knitting. I'm going to bring my crochet book and some yarn on the plane and try to teach myself some other stitches. My goal is to make a blanket for me and the bf so we don't completely freeze this winter!

Anyway, when I get back from my trip I'll definitely hit up the weaving some more. Or maybe tonight...hmmmm...a ctually that does sound good. I don't have any major projects to work on. Maybe you'll get some pictures soon after all  I'm still waiting on a book from the library to learn some weaving patterns so its not so plain jane.

And I have all my claims packed up and ready to go to the PO tomorrow after work!

I'm knitting on the remainder of some store-bought wool yarn that I received as a gift from Eliea into a scarf.  I used it on earflaps on a hat that I knitted from some handspun yarn of freestyle.

I can't tell you how awesome it is to see something made from my handspun! Makes me want to go practice my knitting!!

I've got an item that needs folks' input - it's a palm leaf-style binding that I'm listing an inchie display--


First, though, it needs something more, and I don't know what. Some kind of altering. Any ideas?

Secondly, the way I learned to make this "book" says to have it tied tight enough to only make one page viewable at a time, which looks like this:

Does that seem okay, or would it look better/be more practical for the ribbon to be looser so all the pages can lie flat?

i might do a DNA cowl....a cabled scarf would just take too long...
all this working is tiring me out i tell ya!

I chatted a bit with the other knitter-barista and she warmed up to me a little bit since i got her talking about yarn and showed her some socks i knit. haha. crafts just bring the world together!

tomorrow i sleep in and then go have a nice breakfast with my boyf and catch up on all the tv I have missed. ha!
