Here are the first two iron-ons I've ever done. I used Avery Dark T-Shirt transfers and they work soooo much better than the regular kind seem to. I had no trouble using them at all and the quality is pretty incredible though I can't say anything for the long term as I haven't worn or washed the shirts yet.

These transfers are a lot more expensive than regular ones (I paid Cdn$20 for 5 sheets of transfers) but worth it. I guess it was all balanced by the fact that I found 100% cotton t-shirts from the boys section in a department store and they only cost me Cdn$5 each. They fit just like a women's small or medium if you get the right sizes and are much cheaper.

This one was just a design I came up with--my interest in manatees sort of started as a joke and then spun out of control.

This one is a colorized version of a Jason Sho Green Valentine's Day card.

The manatee kills me. I love it.

I never thought to try the Dark T-shirt transfers and I use transfers for a variety of things - will have to consider it.

Sorry that it took a while to respond to this--I wanted to wash them a few times before sending a reply. They have both been washed twice and are still in perfect condition--no signs of cracking/creasing, etc. What's odd is the manatee one bled a little bit. There was just a bit of bleeding down onto the transfer itself from a few of the cutout marks in black the surround the main design.

just wondering if you had put the shirts through the wash yet.  if so, how did it affect the ironed-on images?

Yup they've both gone through the wash about five or six times and are still looking good. The manatee one bled a tiny little bit where the black cutout edges are but you can only really tell if you're looking up close.

I love the manatee.  Did you draw him yourself?  In any case, it's a great t.  Glad to hear that the transfers have held up after washing.

How did you get white color to print out? Is it really an off-white or other color? Great work!
