Did you remove any wax between the baths (in particular the body of the dragonfly which looks waxed in the first pic but is later dyed)

Also what color was the last dye bath (you used it for the crackle right)

And what kind of wax did you use?  Did you use batik wax or mix your own wax?

I did remove wax between the baths. The body I wanted to be purple, so I had to keep it out of the yellow bath otherwise it would have turned brown. So it is kind of higher maths Smiley

The last bath was indigo blue which gives a very rich deep color for the finishing touch.

I used very cheap wax candle. You have to use hard wax like candle wax for crackling it. Expensive batik wax is usually soft so you can't crackle is. And I think the piece needs the crackling effect to give it more depth.
